Adverse Childhood Experiences
This indicator shows the percentage of adults 18 years and older who reported having 4 or more adverse childhood events (ACEs). Respondents were asked whether they had experienced any of the following ACEs either never, once, or more than once before they were 18 years old: lived with someone who had a mental health issue; lived with someone who had a drinking problem; lived with someone who used illegal street drugs or abused prescription medications; lived with someone who served time or was sentenced to serve time in a correctional facility; had parents who were separated or divorced; lived in a household in which adults were physically abused; were physically abused; were verbally abused; were sexually abused.
